Everything you need to know about using PrismaQR.

Getting Started

Create your account

Sign up at prismaqr.com/signup with your email and password. You'll receive a confirmation email — click the link to activate your account. You start on the Free plan with 10 QR codes.

Create your first QR code

Go to Dashboard → Create QR Code. Choose a type (URL, WiFi, vCard, etc.), enter your destination, customize the design, and click Save. Your dynamic QR code is ready to download and share.

Download and share

Download your QR code as PNG (free) or SVG (Pro+). Print it on menus, business cards, posters, packaging — anywhere. Every scan is tracked in real-time.

QR Code Types

URL

Redirect to any website. The destination can be changed anytime without reprinting the QR code. Supports device-specific redirects (iOS → App Store, Android → Play Store).

WiFi

Let people connect to your WiFi network by scanning. Supports WPA, WPA2, WEP, and open networks. Optionally hide the SSID.

vCard

Share your contact information — name, phone, email, company, job title, website, and address. One scan adds you to their contacts.

Open a WhatsApp chat with a pre-filled message. Enter the phone number and optional message text.

Location

Open a map location. Enter latitude/longitude coordinates and an optional label. Opens in Google Maps, Apple Maps, or the default maps app.

Phone

Dial a phone number directly when scanned. Great for customer service or sales lines.

Email

Compose an email with pre-filled recipient, subject, and body text. Opens the user's default email app.

PDF

Link to a PDF file. Upload your PDF and the QR code will redirect to it. Update the file anytime.

Text

Encode plain text directly into the QR code. This is a static QR code — the text is embedded in the code itself, not a redirect.

Design & Customization

Dot styles

Choose from 6 dot patterns: Square, Rounded, Dots, Classy, Classy Rounded, and Extra Rounded. Each changes how the QR modules look.

Corner styles

Customize the three finder patterns (corner eyes) independently. Choose Square, Dot, or Extra Rounded for both the outer square and inner dot.

Colors & gradients

Set custom colors for dots, corners, and background. Pro users can apply linear or radial gradients to the dot pattern.

Logo

Upload your brand logo (PNG, JPG, SVG up to 2MB) to the center of the QR code. Adjust size (10-50%), padding, and background shape (circle, square, or none).

Templates

Choose from 12+ pre-made style templates: Classic, Modern Purple, Ocean, Sunset, Forest, Midnight, Coral, Gold, Neon, Bold Red, Corporate Blue, and Minimal Gray.

Frames

Add a call-to-action frame below your QR code. 7 styles available: Banner, Pill, Badge, Ribbon, Outline, Minimal, and Arrow. Customize colors and text (e.g., "Scan Me", "View Menu").

Art QR mode

Turn any photo or illustration into a scannable QR code using the halftone technique. Upload an image and it merges into the QR dot pattern. Best for photos, faces, and colorful artwork.

Analytics & Tracking

Scan tracking

Every scan is tracked in real-time. See total scans, unique scans, and scan trends over time on your analytics dashboard.

Geographic data

See which countries and cities your scans come from. IP addresses are hashed for privacy — we never store raw IPs.

Device & browser

Break down scans by device type (mobile, tablet, desktop), operating system (iOS, Android, Windows, macOS), and browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox).

UTM parameters

Append utm_source, utm_medium, and utm_campaign to your destination URL automatically. Track QR code performance in Google Analytics or any analytics tool.

Device-Specific Redirects

How it works

Set different destinations for iOS, Android, and desktop users. One QR code, three destinations. The redirect happens automatically based on the scanner's device.

Use cases

Send iPhone users to the App Store, Android users to the Play Store, and desktop users to your website. Perfect for app downloads, platform-specific landing pages, or A/B testing.

Custom Domains

Setup

Go to Settings → Custom Domain. Enter your domain (e.g., go.yourbrand.com). Add a CNAME record pointing to go.prismaqr.com at your DNS provider. Click Verify — SSL is provisioned automatically via Cloudflare.

Benefits

Custom domains build trust and increase scan rates by up to 40%. Your QR codes use your brand URL instead of a generic short link.

Link Shortener

How it works

Create short links with tracking — no QR code needed. Every URL-type QR code automatically gets a short link. Share the link directly for digital channels.

Team Management

Invite members

Go to Team → Invite. Enter their email and choose a role (Admin or Member). They receive an email invitation to join your workspace.

Roles

Owner: full access, cannot be removed. Admin: full access to QR codes and settings. Member: can view and edit shared QR codes.

Bulk Operations

Bulk create

Upload a CSV file with columns: title, url, type. Download the CSV template from the Bulk Actions page. Each row creates a QR code automatically.

Bulk manage

Select multiple QR codes and activate, deactivate, or delete them in one click. Use Select All for quick batch operations.

Webhooks

Setup

Go to Settings → Webhooks. Enter your server's URL and optionally generate a signing secret. We send a POST request to your URL every time one of your QR codes is scanned.

Payload

Each webhook sends a JSON payload with: event ("scan"), qr_code_id, short_code, title, destination_url, and scan details (country, city, device_type, os, browser, scanned_at).

Security

If you set a signing secret, we sign each payload with HMAC-SHA256. Verify the X-PrismaQR-Signature header by computing HMAC-SHA256(timestamp.body, secret) and comparing.

Download Formats

PNG

Raster format, best for digital use. Default export size is 1000x1000px. Available on all plans.

SVG

Scalable vector format, best for print. Scales to any size without losing quality. Available on Pro plans and above.

Account & Billing

Plans

Free: 10 QR codes, basic features. Pro: unlimited QR codes, all types, full analytics, custom designs. Business: everything in Pro plus unlimited team, domains, bulk ops, webhooks, and data export. Lifetime: all features forever, one-time payment.

Upgrade

Go to Dashboard → Upgrade (sidebar link or profile page). Choose monthly or yearly billing. Complete payment through our secure checkout.

Data export

Go to Settings → Export Data. Download all your QR codes and metadata as a CSV file. Available on Business plan and above.

Delete account

Go to Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account, all QR codes, scan data, team invites, and custom domains. This cannot be undone.
